We are a not-for-profit organization, and this operating structure allows us to live out our mission and keep our seniors at the forefront of everything we do. We reinvest our profits back into our community to offer more amenities and services for our residents and their families.

Camp Jr. Family YMCA and Cypress Cove Country Club are right next door for residents wishing to take a dip or play 18 holes. An outing to the Rawls Museum Arts or the lively downtown shopping district makes for a perfect afternoon.

Independent Living is for residents who manage day to day on their own and want a maintenance-free apartment or cottage with community life around them. Assisted Living at The Manor adds a helping hand through the day with personal services such as cooking, cleaning, dressing and bathing, while keeping as much independence as possible.
Independent Living publishes thirteen floor plans, from a 479 square foot one bedroom traditional through two and three bedroom homes including The Blackwater Plus, The Meherrin and The Nottoway at 2,321 square feet. Assisted Living publishes four: Efficiency at 371 square feet, Alcove at 378, a one bedroom at 485, and a two bedroom Double at 749. Companion suites are also available.
The Advantage Club is the Independent Living waiting list for people planning ahead. Members select their top floor plan preferences and note any special requests, then receive privileges such as annual Advantage Club dinners and priority placement when one of their selected apartments or cottages becomes available.
The Back Porch & Grille is the community's restaurant and gathering place, and it is a good place to start a visit. Call the Grille directly at (757) 516-0031 to ask about joining residents for a meal or a happy hour.
